Zgodnie z informacja przekazaną przez Smedleya, premiera w Chinach była wielkim sukcesem. Po 8 godzinach liczba graczy w Chinach przewyższyła liczbę graczy podczas premiery w USA.

Spojrzałam sobie na oficjalną stronę Planetside 2 w Chinach, gdzie wydawca jest firma The9, i… no cóż… wygląda ciekawie… inaczej…
Oczywiście wszyscy znamy słynne chińskie reklamy promujące Planetside 2. Kiedy zostały one opublikowane jakiś czas temu na forum SOE, wielu osobom nie spodobały się ale niestety SOE nie ma z nimi nic wspólnego. Ewidentnie aby dobrze sprzedać grę w Chinach podejście musi być zupełnie inne niż w Stanach czy Europie, bardziej seksistowskie…

Those shots are for the Chinese version of the game, published by the9, which just entered Beta. That’s the type of advertising that sells games in China. Obviously the9 wants their version to do well so they are going with what works well there. Have you had a chance to play any of the Chinese F2P games? All of them have extremely stylized and scantily clad females. I agree, it is ridiculous when we are looking at it, but that’s what works there.

A propos Chin, to taka ciekawostka. W chinach jest ograniczenie ile czasu może gracz spędzać na dobę przed kompem grając w daną grę MMO – 4 godziny. Dlatego tez, po 4godzinach grania w Planetside 2 cały XP jest wyłączany, nic nie zarabiasz.
